"Just like BC, TFA attracts a diverse group of corps members. I found that my fellow corps members shared similar ideals and values, similar to my friends and classmates I had at BC. Additionally, both institutions have a strong sense of community; I know that graduating from Boston College means something, just like being a Teach for America Corps Member means something. Through both the BC and TFA networks I have always felt a sense of community and support."
"At BC I fell in love with service. One of my first service trips was a winter trip to Pass Christian, Mississippi to provide Hurricane Katrina relief. After this first trip I participated in three Appalachia trips and an Arrupe trip to the US-Mexican boarder. Since I knew my path to dental school was going to require some time off, TFA's mission of "one day" appealed to me and I felt that I could spend two years really making a difference in the lives of children.
